How counselling works

Counselling sessions are client-led. Anything of concern can be discussed, including things past, present, major or seemingly minor issues.

I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds.

I have supported people through issues of anxiety, bereavement, dementia, stress, trauma, abuse, low self-confidence and esteem, assertiveness, depression, neurodiversity, lack of fulfilment or motivation, spirituality, regulating emotions, unhelpful ways of thinking, coping skills, life-transitions (for example retirement), different types of loss, repeating patterns of behaviour, women’s issues, OCD and work-related issues.

Some questions you may be seeking answers for …

t

Do you feel accepted for you are?

So often we end up feeling we need to live up to others’ expectations. We can lose sight of who we really are and what we want to be.

t

How do you feel about yourself?

Issues around body image, feeling different, neurodiversity and health conditions can leave us feeling anxious, inadequate and experiencing low self-esteem.

Past events may trigger intense emotional responses leaving us feeling vulnerable, guilty and ashamed.

t

Have you lost your zest for living?

Life events, transitions and traumas can bring us into unexpected places of insecurity, disappointment, loss and questioning.

The counselling sessions provide a safe, non-judgemental, and empathic space.

Together we can explore and clarify just how and why you are feeling the way you are.

We can begin to gain a new perspective on your situation.

I will be working with and supporting you as you seek to outwork any changes you are wanting to make.

The sessions last for 60 mins and are usually on a weekly basis. I can offer either short-term or open-ended therapy.
